Levin & Districts Brass Inc

Instruments

The modern Brass Band comprises the following array of instruments.  The band is divided into sections, grouped as per the instrument involved.  Each section is further divided into parts as detailed below.  The configuration will vary from band to band, according to the number of players they have, or the instruments available.

For further edification on these various sections and parts therein, see the Humour page.

Cornets
Usually 1 x Eb Soprano; 1 x Principal Bb cornet(Soloist); one or more secondary solo parts, backed up by Repiano, 2nd & 3rd Bb players.

Flugel Horn

Usually only one of these delightful instruments - the player doesn't know whether to sit with the cornets or the horns.

Tenor Horns
